OOAAC is a carefully curated program that can shift cultural attitudes around COVID through information and education, social and cultural inspiration, and community engagement events that bring together community, culture and care. We believe that by coming together, we can increase positive health outcomes in Oakland with fun, information, education, and community.
Lateef Daumont
Lateef the Truthspeaker is a Grammy Nominated, Afro-Latino Recording Artist, Producer, Entrepreneur, and Co- Owner of two legendary independent HipHop record labels, Solesides and Quannum Projects. Lateef is an established cultural entrepreneur with a deeply rooted social consciousness and brings an extensive network of local, national and international recording artists, record and advertising executives, club and party promoters, as well as tech, music and media professionals to this project.
Dr. Macheo Payne
Dr. Macheo Payne is a social worker and has taught at CSUEB MSW program for 10 years, specializing in child welfare & mental health. Dr. Payne is a content expert on addressing disparities among Black students in schools and other social systems. Macheo led the Oakland Freedom Schools program for 20 years, effectively serving Black families and communities. Macheo is currently the Executive Director for Community & Youth Outreach. Macheo received his MSW from CSUEB & his doctorate from SFSU. Macheo lives in Oakland with his two teen sons.
Shomari Smith
Shomari Smith is a multi-disciplinary artist born and raised in Oakland, California. He majored in Illustration at the California College of Arts and is an accomplished illustrator, photographer, and graphic designer who counts the Golden State Warriors, The Chase Center, The Shawn Carter Foundation, RocNation, The Oakland Raiders, Adonal Foyle, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, The Hieroglyphics Crew and CC Sabathia as clients. Shomari is co-owner of E14 Gallery, a small art and gift boutique in Oakland, and is currently promoting the release of his feature length Documentary, “‘TIL INFINITY”, The Souls of Mischief Celebrate 93’Til Infinity”. Tim House
Oakland born, Los Angeles bred. A long time industry and community veteran, with 20 plus years of experience in road management, event production and touring solutions. Tim has produced and managed a plethora of events and artists from arena concerts to block parties from the Bay Area to Barcelona.
